Are These Flirty Lines Romantic, or Could Their Oil Fry Shrimp?

A RedNote collection promised a valuable communications tool: lines that were not explicit but remained powerful enough to seduce.

Readers evaluated the material and discovered a different industrial application.

“They are so oily you could fry prawns in them.”

“Oily,” or 油腻, is a common Chinese description for behavior that feels greasy, self-satisfied or aggressively flirtatious. In this case, the comment section conducted a complete environmental review and found the romance site unsuitable for wildlife.

Saves exceeded likes

The collection received 2,205 likes and 2,722 saves.

This could indicate high practical demand. It could also indicate thousands of people storing evidence.

One commenter asked whether anyone would truly study the lines. A reply offered the most credible use: learn them and deploy them against male friends as a form of disgust.

Others called the language stiff, emotionless, vulgar, low and outdated. Several independently arrived at “oily,” creating the closest thing the thread had to peer review.

The perfect line has an impossible audience

One user presented a useful theorem:

“Anyone who can be won over by lines like these did not need to be flirted with.”

A reply elsewhere made the same point from both sides. A person receptive to the lines was already receptive. A person not receptive would remain unconvinced.

Under this model, the script contributes nothing except the risk of sounding like somebody reading a script.

That may explain why packaged flirting advice ages quickly. Attraction depends on context, tone and an existing relationship. A sentence sold as universally powerful removes all three and replaces them with confidence.

Romance survives the cleanup

The comments did not reject flirting. They rejected the idea that intimacy can be downloaded as a batch of high-emotional-impact copy.

A sincere awkward sentence may work because it belongs to the speaker and the moment. A polished line circulating through caption accounts arrives carrying the fingerprints of everyone who saved it before.

The promised language was not dirty.

According to the inspection team, it was simply covered in oil.
